About me
Tamika Stewart, MA, LPC
I am licensed as a professional counselor who is currently working on a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Behavioral Health (to be conferred December 2020). Originally, from Indiana where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health Education (Indiana University, Bloomington). While in Indiana I worked on a weed and seed program for at-risk youth providing prevention and intervention activities and resources. In 2000 I relocated to Georgia and in 2002 began the master’s program at Argosy University (Atlanta). I received my Master of Arts Degree in Professional Counseling in 2004. I have approximately 21 years of experience in human services with 20 years in the mental health arena. Most of those years have been working with adolescents, teens and young adults. I have implemented community-based programs that provide individuals (adolescents and adults) with substance abuse, mental health diagnosis, and developmental disabilities services in their homes and community. I am a mental health advocate and supporter of suicide prevention, intervention and education. My passion is to provide families with services within their own community to help stabilize and create sustainable change. My counseling style is creating a safe space that allows for growth and change. It takes courage to seek assistance and disclose uncomfortable feelings and create a happier life. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Awesome, understanding and easy to talk to
I worked with Tamika for 2 years and since then I have blossomed in ways I never dreamed and broken cycles I dreamt of breaking. I've recovered from my first heartbreak, I've healed relationships within my network of loved ones, and I've created a dream life amidst uncertainty and fear. I am proud to say I'm a better person because I did therapy with her. She is wise and kind and saw me for who I was from the start and still to this day. I can proudly say that now my choices reflect my growth, not my past destructive or avoidant choices. With her guidance, I believe I have learned the tools to enter life again renewed with a fresh, confident sense of self, boundaries, and overall peace.
Tamika is the best!
Tamika saved my Marriage
Tamika is a blessing to us she has changed our marriage by helping us understand one another and how to express how we feel. She is amazing and I would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone
She’s the best!
Tamika has helped me understand my bipolar disorder and allowed me to grow in ways I didn’t know I was strong enough to. Therapy with her has been great.
I was only able to do these counseling sessions for a short period of time, but I really felt safe to tell all to Tamika Stewart. She made me feel comfortable and not afraid to express everything I wanted to get out. She helped me understand my situation. And I am beyond grateful for her helping hand and knowledge. This was my first time speaking out to someone. I thought I would regret it and I was scared to trust someone and tell them things I’ve never told anyone. But she really made it so easy. In such little time she was able to make me feel so much relief of releasing so much I held in. Thank you Tamika! Speaking from my personal experience, I would definitely recommend her to anyone trying this out for the first time and don’t be afraid. :)
I think Mrs.Tamika is awesome.
Tamika is very professional and understanding. She reads the conversation well and balances listening and counsel expertly. She’s very good with promoting the person to speak and think, and as she talks with or explains thing to the person, she makes sure they are actively listening and understanding. She’s a great option for people who prefer a counselor who is straight forward and engaging.
Although it's still early stage of therapy, she understood the very core of my concerns. Plus, she leads me to deepen my realisation.
Ms. Stewart is incredibly professional and kind. She really takes the time to understand my feelings and is never pushy for me to share more than what I'm comfortable with. The sessions go at my pace and I can comfortably share as much as I'd like. She asks great questions and gives me viewpoints I wouldn't have thought of myself. I definitely would recommend her to anyone seeking a kind person who seems to really care.
