About me

Hello!

My name is Rachel Jones. I enjoy working with teens and young adults because they are at time in life when their minds, identity and habits are still quickly changing and forming. Helping them reflect and learn new skills can set them up for a healthy life in adulthood.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, a Minor Degree in Black Studies and a Master’s Degree in Educational, School and Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri- Columbia.

I have 16 years experience as a qualified mental health professional in various roles including licensed clinician, supervisor, and clinic and regional directors. I have provided therapy services for 12 of those years. My mental health experience includes community-based mental health, career counseling, comprehensive substance use treatment and domestic and family violence.

I am an English-speaking provider who uses a client-centered, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed approach to helping others.

My clinic hours are non-traditional, offered in the evenings, Central Standard Time.

Mondays 5-10pm
Wednesdays 5-10pm

I am so grateful to have found teencounseling.com and even more grateful to have been matched with Rachel. She listens so closely, shares thoughts and ideas that may be helpful and has been so “spot on” with them. I really feel heard and understood.

RJ has both saved my mental state and my marriage. Rachel has helped me realize and come to my own conclusions, what I need most in my life and what is actually going to benefit me best. She has guided me through conversations I've had with others as well as conversations I've had to myself.

I've learned how to love myself stronger, make my needs important and feel imported to authentically and intentionally address issues with confidence and truth behind them.

I'm no longer afraid of communicating because I see it all as growth now, instead of failure. I would recommend Rachel to anyone and the ends of the earth!

1.5 years in, give or take every other week, but it's been my best relationship yet! ❤️

Thanks RJ for all that you do and all that you give others and hold space for.

Rachel is one of those people you’re delighted to cross paths with! She’s knowledgeable, informative, encouraging and holds you accountable to the work you are willing to embrace. I wouldn’t be in the headspace I’m in now without her guidance. It was important to have someone I could speak with in a safe & productive environment to make changes for myself & those around me. Rachel has made that a reality & shown me change is unlimited.

I have had the most progress with working with Rachel. She is professional, empathetic, straight forward and kind. I feel that if I had been working with her sooner I would have been in a much better place earlier. Very thankful for her and I always look forward to our sessions.

Rachel has been great working with my daughter. She felt like someone was actually hearing what she was saying and we are seeing improvement . I also appreciate that she keeps in communication while still respecting my daughters privacy.

Rachel was such an amazing therapist. This was my first time ever seeing a therapist & I have nothing but great words for Rachel. She was super understanding of what I wanted out of therapy & I enjoyed meeting with her every single week. She really does care about her clients & gives amazing advice & feedback. Thank you once again Rachel! If I ever need to restart therapy You will be my go too!
