About me
I became motivated to pursue a career in psychotherapy through my lived experience as a trauma survivor and a recovering addict. I began this work twenty years ago as a peer counselor at the facility that helped me recover and my primary motivation in pursuing a degree in Social Work was to work with adolescents who are struggling with various life issues. I am very fortunate to have recovered as a young person and I have now gone on to enjoy a rewarding and successful career in the mental health field which includes working for 18 years as a fully licensed therapist, providing over 10,000 hours of individual and group psychotherapy, running my own professional training company, and doing research into psychosocial rehabilitation models. My specialties include treating depression, anxiety, chemical dependency, process addictions, and trauma-related disorders. I have worked extensively with teens and adults from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds and I genuinely enjoy connecting with and helping people from all walks of life. My approach to psychotherapy is very client-centered and while I am eager to learn and apply a wide variety of treatment modalities I believe this work is highly individualized. I enjoy working with a diverse client base and my priorities are to build strong relationships and work with clients to apply their individual strengths towards whatever life challenges they are seeking to overcome.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Daniel Klinkert. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
I’ve had a good experience working with my therapist. They are a great listener and really create a comfortable, open space for sharing. It’s been helpful to talk things through with someone who’s thoughtful and gives practical suggestions to work with. I appreciate their professionalism and would recommend them to others looking for support in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment.
Best therapist in teen counseling
Daniel has been great, he's insightful and direct in his comminication which i really appreciate!
Daniel is exactly what my son has needed in a counselor. He is attentive and great at communicating with parents too.
Daniel has been very helpful. He listens and sympathizes, will offer simple suggestions and push me a little when i need to get unstuck.
Daniel is the best therapist I’ve ever had. He addressed my many concerns and helped rebuild my confidence. I wholeheartedly recommend him.
Daniel helped my son tremendously during a time when things weren’t going well for him and he wasn’t willing or able to process with me.
Talking with Daniel has improved my quality of life. I am very grateful to have him as my therapist. I cannot praise his talents and efforts in helping me enough!
Super supportive. Clear communication. Effective listener.
Daniel asks a lot of good questions to help identify problems and find resolutions to those issues.
Daniel is great
Daniel seems very knowledgeable and experienced.
Daniel has been and continues to be the perfect therapist for me. Sharing similar personal experiences and traumas has made it very easy to relate and listen to his advice or thoughts on a topic. He is very professional, always on time ready to go, caring and kind, encouraging, and challenges me when it is appropriate.
Daniel is a great listener. I like brain storming different approaches to the issues of concern to me. I admire his ability to help me explore the same questions I failed to find answer to, yet with his help I am able to see it in a different light.
Good job strait to point ,friendly, and knowledgeable
Love Daniel! He's very understanding, empathetic, and down to earth. He makes me feel very comfortable and offers a lot of useful perspective on things that I'm working through. Highly recommend
We have worked through so much in the past 8 months. Daniel has shared some encouraging perspectives, and insights, and asked the right question, and has consistently helped me focus on what is most benefitial to explore in therapy. I will continue to recommend him and teencounseling.com to friends, family and coworkers!
Daniel was very kind and helped me and my partner reach our couple goals. We feel stronger in our relationship after therapy with him.
Highly recommend Daniel. In the first session he gave us tools to utilize that actually worked. He creates a safe space to express and steps in when things get heated. Great mediator.
Daniel provided focused information and emotional support. I would recommend him.
Daniel helped me move on through some difficult family situations.
Best therapy session ever, for the first time I felt fully heard and not judged. He took the time and offered good advice to what I needed help with. I highly recommend Daniel for your therapist :)
Daniel is awesome. Great listener and provided meaningful feedback and useful tools to gain momentum in addressing what I’ve been dealing with.
Daniel has helped me get through the tough times I am facing!
Daniel is great, I've only had a few sessions with him and I've already gotten a lot out of them. He always asks what I think the most productive thing to discuss is which I really appreciate, he listens well, and offers good, actionable advice.
I feel completely at ease talking to him and he’s very good at keeping me on track. I tend to get off track frequently dealing with many family members so this makes it wonderful in sorting out what I can do to change things within my home.
Things are going well so far. Couples counseling is different but I think he's doing a good job helping us identifying and thinking about things we've been distant from. Just kind of letting us lead, buy also stepping in when we don't know where to go.
Daniel is amazing to work with and is very skilled at what he does
