About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado with over 10 years of clinical experience working with adolescents and families. I have been working in the adolescent residential field since 1996. I started as a house parent; found a passion for the work; and earned a clinical degree to support that passion for helping teens. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma & attachment, parent/child relational issues, and substance abuse.
I believe my clients would say my therapy style is a balance between supportive and challenging. My approach combines Cognitive-Behavioral and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and placing an emphasis on problem-solving, vs a diagnostic label. I believe that while a diagnosis is important; therapy should be solution-focused toward resolving problems that led clients to seek out mental health support. Some problems other teens have brought into therapy include: substance abuse; difficulty accepting parental direction; academic challenges; grief and loss; and attachment issues. In my residential experience I led both male and female groups and have enjoyed being a part of their respective discoveries of inner strength and resiliency that helped them to resolve the problems that led them into care.
It takes courage to reach out and look for help in making the steps towards change. If you have read this far into my bio, I hope you have read something that sparks some interest in moving toward working through the problems that led you to this search. I would love to help you explore some ways to increase peace in your life.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Calvin "Dale" Parker. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Dale has been such a help to my 17 year old son, who struggles with anger, depression, perfectionism. My son felt like he was given helpful feedback and tools to address the specific problems he was dealing with, which has not always happened with previous therapists. Thank you for all your help, Dale!
Dale did a great job engaging my 16 year old son who was against therapy. My son says "he's a cool dude" which a huge compliment :)
Very compassionate male therapist with good insight and questions
Dale has been incredible. I have been in some therapy before, but the way Dale communicates and helps works through things is extremely beneficial and worth its weight in gold. I have had issues opening up but honestly Dale makes it feel as if I am communicating with a close friend who just so happens to be a professional therapist and gives non biased feedback . I hope to work with Dale for a very long time!
He's a great listener! Sometimes all another man needs
I really appreciate my talks with Dale, he is very knowledgeable and also understanding! I have had a good time relating with him and learning from him.
Dale listens well and leads the conversation when needed. He is attentive and responds to how the conversation is going.
